We are excited to welcome back our members and guests to the world’s largest natural habitat zoo! Be sure to read the information and watch the video to help you plan your next visit. 

Zoo Guests and Members are expected to adhere to the Zoo’s health and safety policies, including wearing face coverings in certain areas where social distancing is not possible.  Read more here about what the Zoo is doing to promote safety during this time.

What You Need to Know:

  • Reservations/Advance Tickets are required for Zoo Entry.  For everyone's health and safety the Zoo is limiting the number of guests per day.
  • Face coverings are required for entry into the Zoo in accordance with the Governor’s Executive Order #163 for all guests ages 5 and older.
  • Guests should maintain at least 6’ distance from other groups and practice frequent hand washing/sanitizing.

What You Can Expect:

  • All guests will park and enter the Zoo through the North America Entrance (The entire Zoo is available through this entrance)
  • Zoo staff will be wearing face coverings and cleaning frequently touched surfaces regularly.
  • One-way guest traffic flow where feasible.
  • One-way tram service for guests from Junction Plaza back to the North America Entrance after you have completed your loop of the Africa region. (Face coverings required)

What is Temporarily Closed or Unavailable:

  • Indoor habitats – Seabirds, Polar Bear Ice Cave, Aviary, Streamside and Desert
  • Indoor dining areas -- outside dining is available
  • Kidzone, Giraffe Deck, Carousel, VR Experience, Zoofari, Air Hike Ropes Course and Treehouse Trek
  • Education Smart Carts
  • Keeper Talks and Animal Feeding Times

General Admissions Timed-Entry Tickets:

The Zoo offers general admission tickets for adults $15 (13-61), seniors $13 (62+) and children $11 (2-12). Children under the age of 2 are free but must also have a ticket/reservation for entry.

Refunds, rain checks, or exchanges on timed-entry tickets are not available. Timed-entry tickets are valid only for the date and time stated on your ticket so please check the weather and review current operations before making your purchase.

General admission timed-entry tickets may be purchased online on the day of a visit if space is available.

 

Current NC Zoo Society Members:

NC Zoo Society Member reservations must be made at least 24 hours in advance of your planned visit date and are subject to availability. Reservations can be made online or by calling our membership office 336.879.7250 or 888.244.3736, open 9 a.m. – 4 p.m daily.

 

Current NC Zoo Corporate Members:

Corporate member reservations must be made by calling our membership office 336.879.7250 or 888.244.3736, open 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. daily. Reservations must be made at least 24 hours in advance of your planned visit date and are subject to availability.

 

Current NC Aquarium Society Members:

NC Aquarium Society Members may now make reservations for Zoo Admission by calling the Zoo's membership office 336.879.7250 or 888.244.3736, open 9 a.m. – 4 p.m daily. Reservations must be made at least 24 hours in advance of your planned visit date and are subject to availability.

 

If You Already Have Zoo Tickets:

If you hold a valid, pre-purchased or acquired Zoo admission ticket please call the Zoo’s advance tickets/reservations office 336.879.7700 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. daily to make a reservation for an entry date/time to use your tickets. Reservations must be made at least 24 hours in advance of your planned visit date and are subject to availability. Zoo tickets with expiration dates between March and September 2020 have been extended through Dec 31, 2020. 

 

For All Guests and Members

To keep crowd size at the gate to a minimum, we ask that you please do not arrive at the gate before your reserved entry time. We are unable to accommodate early entries. (As an example, if you have tickets/reservations for 9:30 a.m. your window to enter the Zoo is 9:30 a.m. - 10 a.m.).

Please print your reservation confirmation or tickets for the most efficient entry.  Tickets can also be scanned from your smartphone.

  • NC Zoo and NC Aquarium Society Members:  Please have your photo ID and NC Zoo or Aquarium Society Membership Card along with your reservation for entry.
  • Corporate Members:  Please have your Corporate Member Card or Pass along with your reservation for entry.
