North Carolina Zoo Mourns the Loss of 'Amazing, Goofy' Grizzly Bear

Asheboro, N.C. -  July 09, 2021 - The North Carolina Zoo is grieving the loss of Tommo, a beloved grizzly bear who lived at the Zoo for 26 years. The 31-year-old bear's quality of life quickly declined to the point that the Zoo's staff made the difficult decision to euthanize him this week.

North Carolina Zoo Asks Public to Vote on Names of American Red Wolf Pups

The North Carolina Zoo Announces Three Litters of Red Wolves Born in Span of Three Days

Asheboro, N.C. – May 17, 2021 - The North Carolina Zoo announces the birth of three litters of critically endangered American red wolves as part of its red wolf breeding program.  This is the first time in the Zoo’s breeding program that three litters were born in one spring.

Earth Day 2021 - Party for the Planet
