May 28, 2020 - Two Endangered Wolf Pups Born at North Carolina Zoo Bringing Total to Seven This Year. The pups are named in honor of a zookeeper who passed away last year.

May 27, 2020 - Found in three different locations in eastern North Carolina, the otters are being raised as a group at the Zoo to help ensure their survival after their release.

Asheboro – March 17, 2020 - In accordance with Governor Roy Cooper’s Executive Order 117, and to help limit the spread of COVID-19 in North Carolina, the North Carolina Zoo will suspend public operations starting Tuesday, March 17, for the safety and wellness of our guests and staff.

Asheboro, N.C. – March 9, 2020 - The North Carolina Zoo is excited to announce another southern white rhino was born at the Zoo on Feb. 24, 2020—the second rhino birth so far this year. The female calf was born to mother Linda and father, Stormy. The Zoo will announce details of naming the new calf at a later time.
