Passages to the Continent was commissioned to stand along either side of the Junction Plaza pathway as guests traveled to either the Africa or North America regions of the North Carolina Zoo. Passages to the Continent includes four sculptures in groups of two that stood on either side of the path. Each sculpture includes animals and fauna that would be found in either North America or Africa. 

Passages to the Continent is made from powder coated steel. 

Passages to the Continent is currently on loan to the City of Asheboro with pieces installed at the Downtown Asheboro Bicentennial Park and the Zoo City Sports Complex.
