Teacher & Professional Development

Professional Development Opportunities

The North Carolina Zoo is proud to offer a variety of professional development opportunities for teachers, interpreters, and environmental educators. On occasion we also host conferences and workshops onsite for other natural resource professionals.

Playful Pedagogy's Playing Out Series

These workshops are designed to foster knowledge, appreciation and awareness of our natural world by empowering professionals who work among children and young people to incorporate innovative, exciting strategies into lessons and programs.

Playful Pedagogy, part of the North Carolina Zoo's Conservation, Education, & Science Department, offers professionals from a variety of fields to learn about play and think about how to bring outdoor play back to the lives of children.

Please find our list of upcoming Playing Out workshops here.
