Virtual Camps

Sign your children up for a WILD adventure! North Carolina Zoo is excited to offer Online Summer Camps as a way for kids to learn about animals and their natural environment while staying socially distant and safe. Zoo camp programs offer 1-day or 3-day experiences for students entering grades 1 - 6. Zoo camp activities are based on that week’s theme and can include: visiting park habitats, meeting a zookeeper, creating a craft, and other fun activities.

Camps are three hours in length per day with two time slots, either 9 am-12 pm or 1 pm-4 pm available.

Registration closes at noon the day before the camp. Mondays at noon for Tuesday's 1-day and 3-day camps and Wednesdays at noon for Thursday's 1-day camps. This is so our counselors have time to prepare. To register, call our ticketing office at 336.879.7700. For more information contact us at zoo.camps@nczoo.org.

Scholarships

Thanks to some generous donors we now have a few scholarships available for both our 1-day and 3-day camps. These scholarships are available to:

  • Children who would not normally be able to afford to attend camp
  • Families living in Tier 1 counties of NC (as part of the Zoo's participation in NC Hometown Strong)
  • Families that have been directly affected by COVID-19 (e.g., lose of job or death of parent or close family member)

To apply for a scholarship please fill-out our application form. Deadline to apply is 72-hours before the camp the child would like to attend. We recommend applying early to make sure there is still space in the camp they would like to attend.

If you are interested in sponsoring a child for camp please contact our Ticketing Office at 336.879.7700.
