Valerie H. Schindler Wildlife Rehabilitation Center - Volunteer Opportunities

Rehab volunteer

The non-veterinary activities at the Center are carried out by volunteers. Most give four hours a week but some do more, some less; some work the same day and time each week; others vary from week to week.

Volunteer duties include preparation of diets, cleaning cages, assisting with X-rays and surgeries, giving medications, admitting patients, feeding baby birds and mammals, providing emergency first-aid, answering phones and record keeping.

Volunteers who will be handling mammals for ANY reason MUST have rabies immunizations. Volunteers may also participate in educational programming, cage building and animal rescues.
