The Valerie H. Schindler Wildlife Rehabilitation Center’s volunteer staff conducts educational programs, both on-and-off-site. They bring non-releasable animals to the programs to illustrate how human actions can harm the natural world and our environment.
Topics can be developed to meet specific grade curriculum requirements. Programs are conducted for groups numbering 5 to 30 people - larger groups should be divided.
Fees are based on round-trip costs and include up-to-three repetitions of the program to meet the needs of the group. The only limiting factor would be the availability of animals and handlers.
$20 per program on-site at the Wildlife Rehabilitation Center
$35 per trip off-site, plus 30 cents per mile (if over 30 miles, round trip)
Schools are charged for mileage only
Programs are scheduled based on availability of speakers. Animal participation in a program would be discontinued if the animal becomes stressed.
To request a program call 336-879-7644.
