N.C. Zoo's SimEx Reactor™ provides visitors a thrilling ride with an educational message.
The mobile ride simulation theatre is constructed inside a pair of 28-foot by 8-foot tractor-trailers. The trailers fit together, side by side, to form a portable theater equipped with nine two-seat motion bases. Each motion base moves individually on a three-axis system, which allows infinite maneuverability. Highly sophisticated, computer-controlled hydraulics move the entire audience in synchronization with the actions on the screen. Riders view the world through the eyes of on-screen characters and turn, twist and fall in synchrony with them.
DVD video projection and a DTS Surround Sound systems add to the drama and help create an exhilarating ride through the imagination-and an exciting jolt of entertainment that is also educational.
The simulation theater has been in operation since 2002.
An additional fee is required.
