A special place for 2 to 10 year olds to explore and play

Sept. 24-30 is Take A Child Outside Week!

We will be having extra activities in Kidzone every day of this week.

Sun. Sept. 24: Come to the WOODS and build an animal habitat. Meet some animals that make cool homes.

Mon. Sept. 25: Come to the STREAM (please remember to bring a swim diaper if you need one or clothes you can get wet in!) and see if you can build a boat that floats! You can meet some animals that love water too!

Tues. Sept. 26: Meet us at the CHALK WALL for chalk and water art and fun. See if you can hop like a bunny on a super long hopscotch and maybe even see if there’s a bunny hopping around!

Wed. Sept. 27: Wear your old clothes and come to the MUD CAFÉ to sling some mud and meet some animals that like to play in the dirt.

Thurs. Sept. 28: Come to the DIG PIT and look for buried treasure. Can you find a fossil or some pirate’s loot? You might even see an animal digging around.

Fri. Sept. 29: BUGS! Get buggy all over Kidzone! Go on a bug scavenger hunt and take a look at what they look like up close. We will have our video microscope on the front porch so you can really check out your new little friends. We will also have a variety of big bugs for you to meet.

Sat. Sept. 30: CARDBOARD CHALLENGE—see what you can create! We will supply the boxes, tools to cut and connect and decorate. You supply the imagination!

Nature Play Areas

We've added and updated some of the play areas for your kids to get the most out of their play.

We've added a stream for your kids to jump and splash around in. Don't forget your rain boots or water sandals!

If your little one is still in diapers, SWIM DIAPERS ARE REQUIRED.

We are continuing to build forts in the woods behind the barn. How good are your knot tying and shelter building skills?

Skip on over to the Mud Cafe to order up a serving of crunchy blueberry pancakes for breakfast or grilled cheese and dirt for lunch. Think outside the sink and help us conserve water when rinsing our dishes. Don't forget to tip your cook!

Enjoy seeing the park from a crows eye view from The Treetop Trails. This is the only place within Kidzone that we ask you to walk NOT run or bounce on the bridge. Bouncing can buckle your knees and cause injury.

Get up close and personal with one of our Education animal ambassadors. Animal Encounters are offered at at Kidzone weather dependent.

What are you waiting for? Come Play With Us! Stop on by and find out what else you can do here at KidZone!

Play Matters

Protect the earth for tomorrow by playing in nature today!

Kidzone is still part of the movement to reconnect children with nature. Kids don't spend nearly as much time outside now as their parents and especially their grandparents did when they were children. With the growing issues in our environment, a connection with the natural world is essential to preserving the wild places all the zoo animals represent. Our hope is that kids who connect with nature grow into adults who care for nature. So, be sure to get outside in your own backyard and enjoy the outdoors throughout the seasons...don't forget to dress appropriately! Take advantage of some of these ideas... Backyard Play
