Long ago, we embraced the words of John Muir, realizing that actions taken in the vicinity of the park can have far-reaching consequences…both positive and negative. Located in the heart of North Carolina, the Zoo is active in a number of regional initiatives to protect plants and wildlife in the central piedmont, preserve the State’s resources and minimize negative impacts throughout the southeastern United States.
