Wild Animal Science Camp

The only camp of its kind available anywhere in the world, the NC Zoo's Wild Animal Research Camp engages campers with radio telemetry, camera traps, drones, night-vision equipment and other technologies to study native wildlife and the Zoo's exotic animals.

Campers will engage in the same activities that guide the Zoo's field biologists when they are working in the wild to save free-ranging elephants, gorillas, salamanders and more. They will use radio telemetry, camera traps, drones, night-vision equipment and more to study native wildlife and the Zoo's exotic animals. At the end of the first day, students will camp by the African Plains exhibit and will conduct night-time research on lemurs.
