Zoo Council To Meet
BY: Rod HackneyJul. 22, 2010 The North Carolina Zoological Park Council will hold its regular bimonthly joint meeting on Wednesday, July 28, at 10 a.m. in the zoo's Stedman Education Center.
The Council is a 15-member board appointed by the Governor to oversee the operation and development of the state zoo. The July 28 meeting will include an update on recent developments at the zoo from Director Dr. David Jones. Board members will also hear a presentation on allocation of the park's Special Zoo Fund as well as reports from each of the park's nine divisions on activities since their last meeting in November.
The Zoo Council will join members of the N.C. Zoological Society Board of Directors for a luncheon from noon to 1 p.m., also in the Education Center. The Society is the zoo's non-profit support organization.
