BY: Mike McClanahanFeb. 04, 2008
ASHEBORO, N.C.— The North Carolina Zoo Society announces a Valentine’s Day animal adoption program to raise funds for enriching animals’ lives at the N.C. Zoo. The program allows donors to contribute by choosing from 15 Zoo animals to be featured in their special Valentine’s Day gift package.
The $45 adoption package includes a cuddly plush bear, an adoption certificate, a photo and fact sheet about the adopted species, assorted chocolates (generously donated by Food Lion) and a romantic message from the sender. Funds from the adoptions will support the Zoo’s animal enrichment programs with treats, "toys" and keeper training to improve the quality of life enjoyed by the Zoo’s animals.
Valentine’s Day adoption packages can be purchased online at www.nczoo.com, by phone at (336) 879-7250, toll free at (888) 244-3736 or e-mail adopt@nczoo.com.
The North Carolina Zoological Society is the private, non-profit organization that supports the North Carolina Zoo and conservation. The zoo is an agency of the N.C. Department of Environment and Natural Resources, William G. Ross Jr., Secretary; Michael F. Easley, Governor.
