NC ZOO HOLDS 'FEAST OF THE BEASTS' EVENT SATURDAY

ASHEBORO, N.C.—The North Carolina Zoo will continue its month-long weekly celebrations in April with Feast of the Beasts on Sat., April 12. The event is an opportunity for the entire family to meet zoo keepers and learn about animal diets and enrichment at the park.
Visitors can meet and talk to keepers at the following times and locations: otters at Streamside, 10 a.m.; giraffes at Forest Edge, 10:30 a.m.; grizzly bears at their exhibit at 11 a.m.; sea lions at Rocky Coast at 11:30 a.m.; puffins at Rocky Coast at 11:30 a.m. & 2:30 p.m.; gorillas at Forest Glade at 1:30 p.m.; elephants at Watani south overlook at 1:30 p.m.; birds at Sonora Desert at 1:30 p.m.; bats at Sonora Desert at 2 p.m.; and birds at the Aviary between 2-3 p.m.
Schedules of events, locations and times will be posted on signs inside the zoo and on the zoo’s Web site at www.nczoo.org.
The zoo is located on Zoo Parkway (N.C. 159) six miles southeast of Asheboro off U.S. 64 and U.S. 220. Admission is $10 for adults, $8 for senior citizens and college students, and $6 for children 2-12. Outdoor special events are subject to change due to inclement weather.
