Oct. 27, 2008

ASHEBORO--The North Carolina Zoological Park Council will hold its regular bimonthly meeting at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 5, in the zoo's W. David Stedman Education Center.

Council Chairman Scott Reed will preside. The Council is a 15-member board appointed by the Governor to oversee the operation and development of the state zoo.

Items on the agenda include a review of funding and planning for a variety of zoo construction projects and a discussion of the zoo’s educational programs. Each of the zoo’s nine divisions will also submit reports on activities since the Council’s last meeting.

The zoo is an agency of the N.C. Department of Environment and Natural Resources, William G. Ross Jr., Secretary; Michael F. Easley, Governor.
