KidZone Naturally Fun

Open March 17 - October 2008, 9 AM - 4:30 PM

Kids at kidZoneHey kids!  Do you enjoy looking for bugs, climbing and running or making mud pies?  Well, check out all the fun things you can do at kidZone - a special place just for YOU!

Explore “The Woods” a great spot for building forts where no directions are required!  Visit the wildlife pond or butterfly garden where you can investigate the life cycle of frogs, butterflies and all the wildlife that call kidZone home.

Take advantage of the opportunity to get up-close and personal with reptiles, mammals and birds. Discover the wonders of wildlife and learn how our kidZone ambassadors live and survive in the wild. Live animal encounters take place every Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 1:30 PM.

Our Giant Tortoises are back for the season too.  Tort, a Galapagos tortoise, one of the first animals to arrive at the North Carolina Zoo, will be returning for another visit during the 2008 visitor season. Two female Aldabra Tortoises will join Tort later in the spring.

Discover nature’s wonderful art supplies and create art projects using natural materials. Find out what it is like to be a zoo vet or keeper using costumes, tools and animal props. The bamboo maze invites you to find your way among its twisting turns.

The kidZone is a great place to climb, create, explore and best of all have fun! Visit us this summer and don’t forget to bring your curiosity and imagination.  So, get loose, get your hands dirty and play naturally!
