Harbor Seals at Rocky Coast

Feeding times are posted daily at the exhibit.   Zookeepers normally post one to two feeding times.  Please look for the sign in front of the exhibit.  Times may vary according to animal needs and exhibit activities. 

Seabirds at the Rocky Coast Seabird Exhibit

Feeding Seabirds at the NC ZooThe seabirds have two feeding times daily. The first feeding time is at 9 a.m. and the second is at 1:30 p.m.  

Alligators at the Cypress Swamp Exhibit

Feeding the alligators at the NC ZooDid you know alligators do not eat during the winter?   Between May 1st and September 30th, our alligators are fed Tuesdays and Saturdays only.  Feeding times are posted at the exhibit.   Please look for the sign in front of the exhibit.  Times may vary according to animal needs and exhibit activities. The feeding procedure lasts for about 10 minutes. 

BatVampire Bats at Sonora Desert Exhibit

On Saturday, Sunday and holidays at 3:30 p.m., visit the Sonora Desert Exhibit for the vampire bat feeding and keeper talk.

Africa

Birds at the R. J. Reynolds Forest Aviary Exhibit

The birds have two feeding times daily. The first feeding time is between 9:30 a.m. and 10 a.m.Aviary Feeding Times During winter operating hours, the second bird feeding is between 2 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. During summer operating hours, the second bird feeding is between 2:30 p.m. and 3:00 p.m.

Baboons at the African Pavilion

The baboons will be fed at 2 p.m. daily.

Gorillas at the Forest Glade Exhibit

Feeding at NC Zoo Gorilla exhibit

The gorillas at Forest Glade are fed daily at 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.   Zookeepers will feed the gorillas from an elevated platform behind the exhibit. 

Chimpanzees at Kitera Forest

The chimpanzees at Kitera Forest are fed on Saturday and Sunday at 2 p.m.

Lemurs at Lemur Island

On Saturday and Sunday at 2:30 p.m., a keeper will perform a training session with the lemurs on exhibit and take questions from visitors at Lemur Island.
